want to shave door handles but.......

....how do ya get the door open w/ shaved door handles if the battery dies or the remote control dies?

I had a friend use a seperate battery pack for a back up power supply just for 1 door. had a switch mounted that swapped the power source over if needed. Don't know how it was setup but you get the idea.

take a manual choke cable or something of the like and hook it to your latch inside the door then run it through the hole that the wires go through and then through the firewall or floorboard or something and hide the handle end somewhere under the truck where it can't be seen but where you can get your hand on it and pull it.
you could do away with your inside door handles and put another under the dash or something in case it went dead with you inside.

That is a very good and easy way to do it I used a battery back up for my alarm. You will still want a switch hidden outside that is wired 12+ contstant in case the door accidently shuts when your truck is running.

The battery back up is a good idea. You can also hide a spare connection that goes straight to the solenoid acuator in your door. If both batteries fail, you can jumper to this wire from the outside. You can use a cordless battery from a Makita, Dewalt, etc too....

Most people dont know that .....its funny most people dont realize 12v cordless drill.....Still 12v lol!!! Works the same

You just have to hope teh solenoid doesent die !! haha. I really need to install another one on the pass. side as a backup in case of this
