Project: My Turn, First thread
This is my first thread, hope I'm doing this right? Just to get yall up to date, I purchased this 1972 C20 from my grandfather about 5 years ago, it was his daily driver for about 25 years. I remember as a kid riding in the passenger seat going camping with the fifth wheel hooked up and the boat behind it. When my dad told me my grandad was thinking of selling it I picked up the phone and called my grandparents, within a few days I was picking it up. It had a tired 350 and needed some cleaning so I replaced the motor and detailed the underhood. Decided to lower it so I replaced all the springs with bags then added some 22 inch wheels. I took it to many car shows over the years and cruised it as much as possible, then I got bored of it and parked the 72 in my garage. I originally didn't want to cut it up, but I love riding low and this truck will be killer on the ground. I have been collecting parts for a while and decided to start on My Turn. I have to thank my buddy Brandon for the name, I have been talking to him and couldn't figure out a build name and he came up with My Turn since its my turn with the truck. Love it. I have a brand new 500hp small block to go in, along with a fresh 700r4. I purchased a used 2003 chevy 2500 rearend, which is being narrowed as we speak for the new Intro Twisted Vista 8s 22x10 with 4" backspace. I have a dropped crossmember going in from airbagit also with all 3/4 ton suspension. I will keep posting as many pictures as I can.

That's where I work. I hope you got to work there for the entire outage. We had a few people drive a long way for just a couple weeks of work. I'm a mechanic there.

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread
I worked till 11-10-11. I worked for Joe Moore on the valve team for Crane. I was there for a good while. The truck is super solid, my grandfather kept it under a carport everyday and its been in the garage since i've owned it.

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread
Thanks! The front wheels are 20x8.5 and the rears are 22x10. I wanted to keep it 8 lug just to be a little different. I will hopefully get the motor out tonight, then I'm loading the truck up and taking it to dads shop where I can get the firewall all cleaned up and painted and the new crossmember in.

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread
Well I got the motor and tranny out this evening. Next is getting My Turn to the shop and start cleaning on the frame and firewall.
As for the interior it's nothing spectacular right now, just factory bench with saddle and brown houndstooth. I have a set of factory buckets and console thats is going in sooner or later, but I will take a picture of the inside and post it soon. Thanks for the comments, Chase |

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread
Thanks a bunch! Hopefully get some work done on it today. We have family coming in town for Christmas this weekend so won't be able to get much done this weekend.
I have been checking out your build and like what your doing! I love the idea of the hood for the notch cover. Chase |

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread
My Grandmother brought me some pictures that she had of the 72, this is one of my dad, grandad, great uncle, brother, and me in the cool blue blocker shades and purple shirt! We were headed to or coming from Pate swap meet. My Grandmother gave some good ones of the 72, here is one for now.
