Need help finding Radiator

i have a 67 c10 with a 350 bored .060, having trouble finding a 4 row core using 67-72 as my vehicle yr. when searching. is there another yr that 4 rows are more common that will fit. or is there another way to go about it? should mention that i am wanting to find a radiator that also cools transmission fluid

Not sure about the trans cooler but try looking at one for like a 71-72 3/4 ton big block truck.

I seem to remember a recent junkyard crossover post that contained some info about a radiator from a later model year truck that fit our 67-72 trucks. It's been within the last two weeks.

I put a heavy duty cooling radiator from a like 93 chevroket truck in my 70. The rad hoses were a little different on the top hose but I think I used the stock hose on the bottom. That rad will provide ample cooling for your needs. I did however discover that a reduction bushing will be needed for the bottom. I had a leak on mine there after installation but just pulled the bottom hose off cause the cold weather is here and I have plans to take that truck down to start a quick rebuild and clean up the motor add a 5 speed overdrive and cam intake 4 bbl HEI and headersw/dual pipes. And while I have the motor out I figured why not freshen the truck up with new bushings and the core support was rusty so I'll fix that and the fender cup and the bent fender and and and..... Is'nt how the snowball starts. A 30 dollar tune-up turns into a frame off restoration. By the way while I have the front off, I might as well put the cab on the rotissere, Right ? I mean it is setting out there with nothing on it.....

Pretty common radiator. A 4-core radiator for these trucks are available from a lot of sources. If your truck had an auto tranny... then the radiator had the bungs for the tranny cooling lines as well.

You'll spend around $220 to $400 depending on where you find them at.

Got the same one repeeler got O'Reilly #433369 $175.00, identical to the original radiator.

in 1990, my dad tried to use the new 4 core from his 72 burb c10 in his newly acquired 84 c10 and it didn't fit. my 72 burb c20 has a 307, 3 on the tree and no a/c but i wanted a 4 core for towing (and for the overkill factor). i got a new 4 core from Jim Carter 2 years ago for like $200. soon afterwards they started phasing out their 67-72 line of parts (too much competition) so i'm not sure if they have any more to sell or not. mine does have the provision for trans cooling (just threaded plugs into the holes to keep crap out). i got extra lucky - my dad still had the 7 blade from his burb (w/ 350/350 and factory front a/c). when he sold the truck in 91 it had another fan on it and so that factory correct "performance piece" was collecting dust in the attic....now it's on my truck!

If you really want to cool the trans fluid for towing, etc. you should run an external cooler IMO.

if you can't find a 4 row rad with a tranny cooler, then you need to shop somewhere else. It was a common piece in these trucks.

yeah...that too. i don't have to worry about cooling an auto trans except in my current daily driver. the 72 burb and 87 ram 50 both have manual trans and my dodge k wagon will be getting a built 5spd to go with the 200hp/250tq 2.5 turbo intercooled engine it's getting.

get the biggest darn cooler you can and plumb it so the hot fluid goes to the aux cooler first and then to the radiator. that will get rid of a ton of heat and the freshly cooled fluid will help draw heat out of the radiator.

another item to consider is some synthetic atf as it lasts longer, takes the heat better and provided better lubrication. automatics see a lot of abuse and can use all the help they can get. and don't run that orange dex-cool crap that GM puts in it's cars. not compatible with regular green fluid (they do make green stuff that will mix with either) and it will eat engine seals i've heard.

you will need to get new 4 core specific mounts if you did not have a 4core to startoff with

The "cat" makes a good point about the new mounts. Especially the upper brackets are longer.

I'm looking into replacing mine as well. The route that you guys have posted with the O'reilly's radiator looks good to me, I just have to find the mounts and I'll order it all today....now.... where do you go about finding some mounts?

Any of the BB vendors will carry the mounts.You'll need a drill and hacksaw or die grinder to mod the core support slightly.Not abig deal and only takes a few minutes.
