..4-link??? help!
hey guys...i've decided to go with a flip kit out back on my 82 swb and i'm at a bit of a stumbling block. this is where i'm hoping you guys can come in and shed some light: i've been doing much research and have noticed many 4-link setups being run, whether bagged or static dropped. i know a 4-link setup is is designed to prevent/limit axle roll...but is it CRITICAL/NECESSARY to do so when flipping the axle on top? or is it more of an added precaution? any help/advice you can offer is much appreciated...

If you flip the rear above the springs, it has the same axle roll as when it was below the springs because the rate doesn't change. If you're ok w/the set-up in its present state, you'll be fine once it's flipped. If the plan is big power or a better ride w/air bags & eliminating the leafs, the 4-bar or a truck-arm system would be the way to go.

the big'st reason people are do'n the 4 link with bags is the amount of lift/drop you can achive and the adjustability they offer, some put the bag's on the top link bar and get alot more lift and a smoth'r ride.
if you'r not plan'n to slam the truck the flip kit on your exsist'n leaf spring's will be fine.
