Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

I watched the Hot Rod christmas Burnout. That was hilarious! I was wondering when you would have to bail out of the car because of the smoke!

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

Here is some of the progress I have made over the past two days. I will be installing the new crossmember next, will post pictures soon. I ordered the firewall filler panels from Nate this week and will be installing them as soon as they get here.

Those are the best burnout tires I have ever owned!! They start to smoke soo fast, I couldn't hold my breath any longer!! My brother-in-law was passing by down the highway and called to see if there was a fire at the house because of the amount of smoke!! The Highway is almost a 1/4 mile away...LOL!

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

I'm back with progress!! I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas! Ours was very busy, running everywhere. Front crossmember is in and fit excellent, just waiting on a few more pieces to arive and it will be complete. The Porterbuilt filler panels arrived and I installed two of them today, a great product!

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

I have been working as much as I can on My Turn, so far the firewall is sanded and cleaned, getting ready for paint. I removed the passenger side glass today along with the rear glass. I got the front crossmember all bolted up except for the rack, I am waiting on the notches for the frame to come in. We sprayed a test panel yesterday to try and decide on the color to paint the truck. I will post a picture of it in the morning, forgot to take one today.

Sorry, I have been busy finding the wife a new car and remodeling a new shop my dad just leased. Trying to expand and grow the business. I bought my wife a 2009 pontiac G8 GT! Super sweet car I will post a pic of it tomorrow. Here is a picture of the letdown panel of the paint color, hopefully you can see the difference. Starts with the base coat of copper and then 1-4 coats of Kandy!

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

I have been very busy lately! We are remodeling the new shop and office so we can move in soon. I have the bed off and moved to the new shop, starting to remove all the crossmembers getting ready for the custom rear suspension setup.

Re: Project: My Turn, First thread

Some shots of the new shop. The previous renters tore all the insulation up in the back shop, looks like crap! We will fix it sometime. We added the tin on the office wall and painted all the walls in the front shop. I pressure washed all the concrete and doors yesterday and today. Thats my brother and our electrician wiring all the lights in. The building was used as a warehouse and had no lights or plugs installed.

Hey Mrod72, I have the same rims like your first pic. I'm missing the center caps and don't know the brand. Can you tell me the brand name so I can order new center caps? Thanks.

The wheels in the first picture are Incubus Grim. Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch Chris! We have outgrown our little shop we have been in for a long time, this one popped up less than a mile from our current shop and we jumped (we meaning my dad and I). It is going to be really nice. I will hopefully have the rear suspension done and laid out next week. I leave on the 28th for my next Nuke job and progress will stop till I get home.

Thanks! I will post some pics of todays progress tomorrow. I'm in the process of removing the crossmembers on the rear of the frame. Getting it ready for the notch and rear suspension setup.

The one I have is a airbagit dropped crossmeber, It came with spindles, control arms, rack, bags, shocks, shock mounts, motor mounts and all hardware. There are many kits available for these trucks now, Porterbuilt and Scotts make them also. I went with this one for the price and they set it up for 3/4 ton for me for very little difference in price.
