Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

First time poster so take it easy.

Who all has hands on experience with Thorbecke Brothers products?

I've got a bead on a 79 dually and I'm wanting to buy one of their bolt in raised cross members depending on what those with them installed say.

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

Welcome to the board.

Is ************* still selling these?
Seems like they are having some issues fabricating parts anymore.

If you can't find your answers,... check out www.porterbuiltfabrication.com.
Nate has sold several hundered of his Dropmembers.
You can't beat his customer service.

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

Thank you for the welcome.

And yea, according to their site they have both the 47 and 51, http://bit.ly/u291lF and http://bit.ly/tVvuFZ respectively, in stock and ready to ship.

Thanks for the alternate, I'll definitely check him out.

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

I wouldn't rely on the Thorbros website.
Call them and see how long before you would get one to your door.
I think they are having some issues.

I have a buddy who's been waiting a few months for a set of S-10 arms. I guess they are having problems filling orders.

That's a good tidbit to know, Gibbs, thanks.

And to be completely honest, Andrew, I just heard about Porter last night from Lo

Nate Porter is the orginator of the Dropmember.
It was first copied by Thorbecke brothers and now AirBagIt.com is selling their inferior quality CRAP designed around the Dropmember.

Porterbuilt has been a site supporter going on 9 years now.
Nothing but TOP QUALITY products,... only out done by his customer service.
How many companies have to talk to you in person, about your order,... before you make a purchase?
Nate always wants to make sure you are happy with what you are getting.
(and answer all your questions)

Don't look anywhere else!

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

Nate also builds custom tubular a-arms.
So if you plan to lay out your dually on 22" or 24" semi wheels,...
he can make the 1-ton a-arms shorter to work with stock 1-ton rotors,... or longer to work 3/4-ton rotors.

And how many companies do you get to talk to the owner who is concerned about you and what you think of his product.

Top notch guy, top notch product. Can't say enough good things about Nate!

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

One more option out there here at scotts we have our bolt in ifs for the c-1O truck. If anybody has any questions you can call our shop and talk to myself about 99 percent of time and so you all know I am the owner of my company and can help you guys out on anything you might need out there.

One more thing Porter makes very nice products out there and I will say our bolt in is a lot differnt than the other ones on the market.

One more option out there for the guys who may not want to do a bolt in we have our weld in version that will work for your truck as well.

You can see some formun members on the site who are posting there build threads and you will be able to see how our products look.

One more thing to add we are always running a great forum discount for all of the members on this forum

Nickw-

If you are interested in learning more about our products, feel free to shoot me a PM or an e-mail with your contact information and I will give you a call. Not working today... but will be at it again tomorrow.

It is also important to know that the 73-87 C30 chassis is different than the C10 chassis. We make a Dropmember specific to your application, that uses your existing spindles and brakes, and offer it with several options.

I am unaware of any other company selling a replacement cross-member that is a direct fit to the 73-87 C20/C30 chassis.

Re: Thorbecke Brothers P-47/51

go Porterbuilt for sure. I bought one of QARs raised cross members when they had there big introductory sale (formerly known as *****************). Trying to save $ came back to bite me. When I called in for tech support it was hard to get anyone on the phone who knew much about the product. Nate from Porterbuilt ended up helping me a lot even though I didn't purchase his product. He didnt have too but he did. Thats the type of guy he is. I am buying Porterbuilt in the future no matter what. I don't care who has a sale on their copy of his product. Its not worth it and Nate deserves your business..

Looking to build a 63-66 with Dropmember and LS engine when I find the right truck
