Thanks. So far I am happy with the progress on the hood but I just need to find the time to finish it.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

No updates. I have been out of state working. When i get back home in July i will e putting in 350 that i purchased from my father in law. I am also going to put in a new 700r4. Possibly swapping rear end for 14 bolt semi floater and 6 lug front rotors. I cant wait to move forward. I have the money now but just not home. I am also buying a 4 inch cowl hood. As much i like the way my hood was coming out I think its best to buy one. I may also get truck painted after welding in roll pan and filling in bed pocket holes. I will have pics once i get started again.

Look forward to seeing all the progress you make. I love the fact that these trucks can go from ho hum to hot damn with just a few tweaks here and there.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

Well yesterday we were able to start the 350 that I bought from my father-in-law. The engine is in his 69 camaro that has been sitting for 24 years. The engine has 28K miles when he parked the car. It took a few after noons to get the parts that he had taken off through out the years. I had to buy a new Edelbrock carb and and MSD HEI distributor. After taking all the precautions of making sure all was good before starting the engine it came to like after 24 years. I am going over today to start prepping to take the motor out this coming week. Once I get it home and get it cleaned up and painted I will order my new 700R4. We are also going to put in a more performance cam at some point before putting it in the truck. I will try to get pics today of the engine in the camaro.

Thanks. I used a paint by duplicolor made for interior pieces like the dash. I bought it at Autozone.

A good thing about it is that the upgrades were brand new! That is one envious Chevy you got there sir. The mods and engine tweaks are perfectly fine.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

I finally have some updates. I recently shaved off the tailgate handle and relocated the handle to the inside. Here are a few pics of the work.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

I also have started filling in the bed rail holes. I got started on one but have not completed it and the other 3.

I also have added power windows. The kit was from Electric life. I don't have any pics of the work while I was doing it. Only the panels when completed.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

I pulled the 5.7 liter that I got from my father in law and got it cleaned up. The engine had sat for about 22 years after a few afternoons of getting the engine ready for start up it started right up. The engine has 28K miles on it when he parked it. I bought a new HEI MSD distributor and wires. I also bought a new 650CFM Edelbrock carb. I also have pulled the 4.3liter from my truck a few days ago.

I plugged all the holes an power washed it. I am going to paint it once I get all the external parts such as new water pump and oilpan.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

Here are a few pics of the 4.3 liter engine coming out. My wife helped me pull the engine out. She is the coolest wife ever. My kids also helped when needed.

Here it is once it was pulled with the transmission.

Of course here was the true muscles of the operation. If I would have let her she would have got in the engine bay and turned a few wrenches.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

I also picked up a new 4" cowl hood. I know most people don't like the 4" cowl but I sure like the way it looks. I plan to eventually go prostreet with the truck. Of course that is later. I will narrow the frame to put some big meats in the back and either put a big block or a crazy 383 stroker.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

Here is a pic of the headers I picked up from Ebay. I seen that other indiviuals had recommended them. I am pleased with the quality of them. The flange is about 1/2 thick.

I took the Turbo 400 yesterday to the transmission shop to have it rebuilt. I am having them build if for the track. I didn't want to have it built twice so I am having it built for when I go pro street with the truck. They are building it for around 800-900 HP and 1000fp of torque. I am also getting a large oil cooler for the transmission. I also purchased a 2200 to 2500 RPM stall convertor. While the transmission is at the shop I am going to get the 350 ready to install. The serpentine setup from the 4.3 will swap right over. I will have more updates as they come.

Well I plan on going prostreet with the truck. When I do that I will keep you in mind and work out a deal if you still want them. It will be awhile before I do that but that is the plan. I will let you know.

Re: My 94 cheyenne build.

I got some more work done within the last few weeks. I was able to remove the V6 motor mounts and install the ones for the V8. It wasn't to hard to do. I used the plasma cutter to cut off the exsisting bolts. As far as putting them in I was able to do it with 2 long extensions and a swivel. My father inlaw and also completed some work on the engine. We opened it up and torqued all the bolts on the caps and rods. Everthing checked out just fine. I also installed a high volume oil pump and oil pump. A new double roller timing chain was installed as well. There was some slack in the existing one and we were unsure of what was allowed. So with the doubt we decided to install a new one. A new water pump and fan clutch were also installed. Here are a few pics of the engine as of now.

I also picked up the transmission from the builder. I also purchased and installed a new oil cooler for the transmission.
