Got Another Camaro
Friday I saved another Camaro from the scrapper. I was telling a friend at work about my 83 Z28 project and he tells me his friend has a camaro he's going to scrap out because he needs $$$. I asked if it runs and drives and it does so I made an offer ($400) sight unseen and also set up a time to meet friday. My girlfriend and I went out to check it out and ended up driving away with it. At first we were a little unsure about it because the car is a little beat up and the interior isn't the greatest. So after buying the car we went over to a friend's house (they are really in to camaros) for a second opinion and they said we did pretty good....another friend of ours made offered to trade an S-10 for it based on the pics I texted him.
So now we have this: It's a 1990 RS camaro with the 3.1L V6 and automatic trans...we had been looking for one for a while to use as a commuter. The engine and trans are tired, but they will get you there. The car needs a lot of cosmetic work, but overall the car is pretty straight and has no rust. I've already fixed a few things on the car and just have to repair the exhaust, and eventually I will have to drop the tank to fix the gas gage...the wire broke when the fuel pump was replaced. The car handles really well considering how beat up it looks. Overall, we are happy with the car and have plans to restore it to be a clean daily driver. I will probably drive it until I get my Z28 going and then it will be my girlfriend's daily driver.

Re: Got Another Camaro
LS swap and a 76mm turbo and this car would b fun!! Great buy for $400, and good job saving another one from the crusher.

Re: Got Another Camaro
Thanks! I've always wanted one too, just never thought I would be buying two in less than 6 months. Now that my girlfriend is back in school (quarter started this week) she's going to drive this so we can park her 78 camaro.
If any car gets an LS swap, first it will be my 83 Z28....but I don't have the cash for that just yet. Although we have talked about building up the 3.1L in the 90 RS, I guess you can get close to 500HP out of that engine.

Re: Got Another Camaro
The car is officially mine (well actually it's my girlfriend's, but the title is in my name) now...went and transfered the title today. Weird thing is, about an hour or so later the dash lights start working.
