Crossmemeber swap

I have a 69 GMC and I found 81 Chevy for cheap. I heard on here that you can swap the front crossmember of the 81 to my 69, just neep to widen one of the holes. This truck has a fresh 350. I am wanting the 350 and the disk brakes off it. Is it possible to just swap the disk brake set up w/out too much trouble. Are the spindles the same as the ones from 71-72?

Re: Crossmemeber swap

I just recently put a '79 suspension under my '64. On mine, I had to drill one new hole on each side and elongate a second hole on each side. Very simple.
