New Bed Wood Idea!
Hey guys, I went to a car show last weekend and there was a 55 international there that they had taken a hunk of bowling lane and used it for a bed floor in a short step. It looked sweet! The lane was about 8" narrower than the box, so they made oak tool boxes to fill in on the sides. Then they took a router and cut a big bowtie in the lane and scribed International inside it. (it was bowtie powered). It might not be real feasible for everyone, because not everybody has a 10' chunk of bowling lane in thier barn like I do......but I have one....hehe........I'm thinkin' free bed floor. I wish my digicam wouldn't have been out of batteries, I'd have pics.

You mightwant to reenforce the end panel. Bowling balls are heavy and carry a lot of inertia.

My dad built a complete set of kitchen counter tops with bowling ally deck once turned out really cool and unique as he left the markers in. There not hard wood it’s laminated with various soft woods and you have to seal them well if your gong to expose it to moisture. There still a couple of feet of it in the old barn, and I’m always on the look out for more.
