"cruznby" w/ big block
I have had this truck up before but all my pics got wiped out, so since I had not got going on the truck I thought I would start over. Here is what I am starting with:Its a 1969 swb, I got it with no motor, no tranny, which was fine cause I bought a 8.1 from an 05 3/4ton, got the tranny and the computer's and plan to use some of the brake system.
Mods in the future: drop 5/7 shaving everything (debating door handles may swap newer style flush one's) c-notch wood bed (rustic Hickory) fuel cell or tank from a 4th gen camaro Going to do something to hood(like a 2010 camaro scoop) drop in BB and 4L80 newer gauges custom center console 18x9F/18x12R (plan to use the rear wider wheelwell's) I am sure i missed something but it will be noted when i get to it Got the bed and front clip off Had to pull front clip cause i found this,It was hid by bondo Anyway thats where I am got the interior pulled also will post some more pics on that later after I load them

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
well I have been picking away at the rotted cab on and off for a while now got to this point
and thought there has to be an easier way to fix this mess and then i found this beauty on CL in Michigan of all places 30 min from my house, it is a rust hole free, no rot cab, that other then a couple changes to suit my needs is ready go, I need to find a media blaster in the area to take care of some surface rust and the rest of the paint, but other then that I also got the motor and tranny seperated,so i can get a new tailshaft installed(its out of a 4x4) and started pulling harness off the motor to send out and get de-turded.Progress is being made slowly but surely.

What headers are you using? Do you like the fit?

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
drivers side header needed a little more room, PO took care of that for me engine stand is notched around the first tube, I will beef it up when I box in the frame in that area

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
Got cab and doors back from sandblaster, they look great no unseen damage in the cab or doors, the guy that did the sandblasting said that everything was really solid. Had everything covered in a epoxy coating to prevent rust. Hope to get old rusty cab off this weekend, And start boxing in the frame, and installling the C-Notch

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
got a little done in the past couple weekends, made a cradel to pull my old cab, didnt quite take the weight difference into account almost dropped it,(not like its going back on lol)
got the motor and tranny back out also, got the tranny crossmember set where it needs to be, and started making the mess on the floor with various wire wheels. Found out my buddy can clean all my front suspension parts at work with a sonic parts cleaner,SWEET getting ready to fix up frame now, more pics to come

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
been a while since I have posted but got the front suspension back in for a test fit
I currently have the rear end tore apart to put in c-notch, 6" drop springs, 1" lowering blocks. I am also building my own rear disc brake set up, promise to post pics as soon as I can find them

Re: "cruznby" w/ big block
Got my rear disc brake set up done, made my own rear caliper brackets, used 05 avalanche rear calipers and 00' chevy truck front rotors. C-notch is in and I debated on flipping the trailing arm brackets for my drop and decided it was a way better idea to order PB's trailing arm cross member. Way more options for adjustability with that option. Couple more weeks I will be able to disassemble and paint frame and components. Next up fuel system for the 8 liter.
