I wanted to apologize publicly. I will call when I finish typing. I didn't get any time this weekend to work on it and have been crazy busy yesterday and will be until Thursday. I should have time Thursday and if not I will make time Friday morning to finish up and get it in the mail Friday. I have the paint now so I'm ready to go and should have another couple finished up next week for those that have asked when I'll have more ready. I'll post up pictures when completed.

I'm sure there is a good explanation for this situation. I have had many dealings with Jonathan. He is a great guy and in my opinion an asset to this board. We don't want to be to fast to claim a bad deal publicly. We can't all see whats going on in each others lives off the board. Jonathan will take care of you.

Paul, sorry I missed your post yesterday. I didn't get the pm to pop up and didn't notice this until now. Glad we were able to talk this afternoon.

FYI to those looking...
There seems to be an issue with the paint on the needles flaking on his dash so he's sending it back to me....also he'd prefer a new lens vs the original so I'm swapping that out. The original was one I polished for him once he got the original tach because he preferred all original...but it wasn't as nice as he wanted so I'm going to put a brand new one in and fix the needle paint.

Jonathan, i pmd ya the track #. its coming back to you for a good going over. youll definitly see whats up with the paint on faces and lens , also how thick it is on needles. scratchs on lens also. I appreciate the time and effort that goes with doing resto work and after talking at length with you I feel you will do your best. looking forward to a Show Quality dash.

Thanks for the update. I will be interested to see what happened to the paint...

Of course you can see the pictures I posted above before it was shipped with and without the lens on and it was looking great so I'm sorry it didn't arrive that way. I will put the new lens on as we discussed and strip and re-paint the needles and clean up whatever else needs to be cleaned from the flaking paint. As I mentioned when we talked, it will probably be a couple of weeks before I can get to this once I receive it. But as agreed, I will keep you posted. Thanks for your understanding and patience with this deal.

see your pretty busy on the board jonathan and understand you would not be able to get to the show quaility dash for a couple weeks ,but you would keep me posted. havent heard a word. not even when it arrived two weeks ago. i would think you would have given me the curtisy of a call, or a pm , something. whats happining jonathan. wondering about this show quality dash that i purchased. communication is the key .im sure you would expect the same as everyone else on this board. asked that you just be up front when we talked on phone .

Paul, I told you on the phone when we talked it would be at least 2-3 weeks once I received it before I could get to the dash. When it arrived I signed for it so you knew (as you posted) I received it so I really didn't even think about needing to call you just to let you know it arrived since we had just talked about it a few days before and you said you'd be out of town. If I ever am wondering/waiting on something I send that person an email or a pm or call them myself....not publicly post something to make them look bad before giving them a chance to respond...

I have sold three other tachs I completed on the same day since yours. One to another boardmember and two locally. I have a dozen more to complete but haven't had the time recently with other commitments. Everyone who has received a tach from me has been satisfied as far as I know with many sending me messages to let me know how happy they are with them. As we discussed (to keep things out in the open) you originally asked me for an original lens which I polished. ( I offered you the original lens once you went with a factory tach vs. the aftermarket one posted) It's not 100% perfect but very nice for an original as anyone can see in the pictures posted. I am still not 100% sure what happened to the needle paint...I asked around to a couple of guys who also restore these and it just looks like I got a bad batch of paint to cause it to look the way it does once it fully cured....(as the pictures show, it didn't look that way shortly after it dried...) As we discussed, when I get time (and new paint) I am going to put on the new reproduction lense (what was originally to be sold with this dash) and clean off/repaint the needles and clean any loose paint (I don't see any of the loose paint on the faces or elsewhere that you mentioned (might have moved around during shipping) but will do an overall general cleaning before re-assembling)

Or, if you prefer I will refund your money. Just let me know.

Just confirming that I will be refunding 440. You still have the factory wiring harness which I generally sell for 35-45. Or if you want to send the wiring harness back I will refund the full 475. Let me know what you prefer. Also, I just checked and I will need to transfer funds from paypal to checking so it might take a couple days to have the cash for the money order.

Paul, I am back in VA as of 5:30 this morning for a few days then headed back to Alabama again to help my family. I honestly did forget to send the money order. I was waiting for the paypal transfer (takes a few days) then we got the call about her grandpa and basically threw some clothes in the car and took a 13 hour trip. It will go out tomorrow along with a few other money orders for parts I purchased right before this all happened. I do apologize for the delay.
