Aftermarket steering column choices??

Wondering if anyone can help? I'm putting a 700R4 automatic transmission in my 65 C10. Currently the truck has a 3 speed manual in it. I am looking at differant columns that are out there Ididit, Flaming River etc. Does anybody have information or photos of this swap? Also I can anyone help with finding dealers for the complete kits?
Thanks....

Re: Aftermarket steering column choices??

I just installed the ididit tilt column in my 66. It seems to be very good quality and fit perfectly. It was VERY expensive and every "accessory" is an extra charge. If I remember correctly, the column was about $600 and did not include the shift indicator, shift linkage, steering shaft, or any provision for the cruise control. The shift indicator alone was another $70! The componets for the steering shaft were over $100.

One more thing to consider is that the tilt column is longer than the stock column and therefore it puts the steering wheel closer to the driver. It should be OK for me, but my buddy that is a little bigger commented that he would have a hard time driving with this set up. (Factory seat all the way back, with no gas tank in the cab)

Hope this helps.

I put in a tilt from a 71/72 truck, used a mid 70's intermediate shaft, shortened and installed. Cop has new ones just like this for around $350
