which engine do I have

I am not sure which engine the truck has. Is there a sure way to find out?

It has blue valve covers,
v8
not sure if its a 350 or 305

are there any numbers on the block that could tell me?
Thanks

if you look at your dash from the outside, then you'll see a number stamped onto a little metal plate, this is called a VIN, or vehicle identification number, then find a VIN decoder online and you can find out what type of engine your truck came with from the factory.

Hmm, there may be a serial on the block, I doubt that someone would install a 305 though, I would guess it to be a 350, but yeah, check the block for any information...

in front of the passenger side head, or behind the alternator in other words, there's a small pad. About 1" by 4" or something along those lines. There should be a bunch of numbers stamped into it. If you can get those numbers, we can tell you what the engine is.

Good luck.
