Ammeter to voltmeter upgrade
I'm upgrading my alternator to a 10si. My blazer is a '72 and has a ammeter in it now. Since my new alternator will put out more amps than the stock ammeter is rated for I want to change it to a voltmeter. Does anyone know of an aftermarket voltmeter that looks stock and will fit in the factory dash?? Any information or ideas about any of this would be greatly appreciated.

I've run a 12si from Summit (made by PowerMaster) that's good for 140amps.
Been running the same alt since 2001. It's been connected to the factory harness and Amp gauge since installed. I have not had any issue's to date. Here's the tag that came with the alt. Note that it tested 23amps more than advertised . .

I'll be adding more more power sucking components to my blazer and don't want to run the risk of fire so I have decided to look for a voltmeter to replace it and look like it belongs with the other meters. Does anyone know of a voltmeter replacement?

If your dead set on using a voltmeter I'd look at the same era in gm cars.
Maybe a couple years newer. The font and style of the gauge may be similar to our ammeter but not dead on. Of course nothing will bolt in. You will have to do some kind of fabrication. .

I'll have to get you a pic of mine, but its just an aftermarket voltmeter I put in place of the ammeter. It had a black face already, just had to take out the ammeter and put the voltmeter in.
