Over tightening will cause blown gaskets. Bolts coming loose cause blown gaskets and making the header too tight causes a warped flange A header lock washer kit and gaskets called REMFLEX fix the issues very nicely. Been running my paper thin flanged headmans for two years like this. Have had no issues so far Look into REMFLEX gaskets they are nice Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Will headers hurt exhuast flow?
Put teflon tape on the threads of the header bolts and they will not back out. When you want them out, they will unscrew as needed. It works like a charm and lasts a long time.

Re: Will headers hurt exhuast flow?
I have never had a set of headers that I installed have the gaskets go out, but... I always use stock Felpro (or whatever?) manifold gaskets.
Never seemed to give me any issues?
