Console question
What is the difference between the 1967-72 original center consoles and the 73-80 consoles? I found a place that repops the 73-80's is why I am asking. If there isnt much difference I am going with a new one!

Re: Console question
I may be corrected but I think that the 67 to 72 have square seat belt holders and the 73 to 80 have round cup holders, I'm sure someone will let us know.

Re: Console question
The Brand new 1975 Blazer my dad bought hat the square seat belt holders. we had the 72 at the same time we had the 75 and the consoles were the same except for the color of the bowtie emblem. The 72 was blur and the 75 was yellow. The round cup holder came later like 78 I believe.

Re: Console question
I bought a repop also, from classic industries. It is very light, the top fits bad, and there is no trim or emblem. I still have it sitting in a pile, bought an old one that had been redone. There is no comparison in quality, the original ones are much, much better.

Re: Console question
69-76 seat belt style and 77-80 cup holder. I am pretty sure 77 was the first year for the cup holder style, It was the same year that the doors and door panels changed.

Re: Console question
I talked to the owner of Manes Truck Parts in Odessa Mo. last weekend at a swap meet, he said that he has a friend in Kansas that rebuilds the orginal ones and sells them. Haven't seen one or know of the quality, sounded a little pricey to me. He told me that it would range from 180 and up without the trim, might be worth a call.

Re: Console question
I got it today! I opened it up right before I came into work ( I work second shift) It doesnt look that bad! It is a little thin maybe but not too bad at all. You forgot to send me a bill for the shipping. Thanks a ton though! I may put some al's liner in it eventually to thicken it up a bit but I am pretty happy with it.
