Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Didn't you see the lol, these speed alert setups are worth more in pieces (kinda like the trucks) and as I had said in that first post with pics, I would part that 69 S/W dash also if enough interest was shown. I see them from time to time here on the parts board sitting with no takers in the $275.-$300. range. That above 69 S/W setup will piece out in the $380. range for just the s/w components, all of the above pictured 69 s/w pieces work great and if I knew how to post a video of it being bench tested as a complete setup I would. Do you have a working buzzer and harness? If so, pending shipped price I'd take it or get in line

Yes Wes, I had you up for one rear s/w tin. We can do that deal now if you want as I have a single rear extra tin (not from the above 69 setup) that I found upstairs. I will call you in a bit, Mel |

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Jaros if you do find a tin then contact 70shortfleet (Les) and he can take care of cutting out the hole for the tach.

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Ok guys, now that the 67 s/w cluster parts are all sold and boxed up, here is the second round of speed warning parts that were just removed from the 69 dash cluster. This complete 69 speed warning setup was in 100% working condition before being taken apart today and like I already stated on the other 67 setup, NO guessing games or buy it and see if it works bull crud here, the first two complete cluster pictures are showing needle adjustment as working. I just re-read this complete thread and listed below is the order as I see it, once you are up as taking an item then pm me a e-mail address and I will send you an invoice thru paypal. Mel
Order of commitment/interest as it sits now on the 69 s/w components: #1 - Speed alert speedo head, needle adjusts smoothly and activates buzzer as it should. In great working condition. $145... / jaros44sr #2 - Speed warning rear tin with brass pin and speedo head grounding strap and mounting screws, will also include the pictured front tin if wanted. $65... / Classic Heartbeat, jaros44sr #3 - Speed warning buzzer and uncut OE buzzer harness, both the buzzer/harness have been tested and are working pieces. $95... / VA72C10 #4 - Speed alert adjustment cable, the "real deal" truck piece along with an OE cable nut and OE adjustment knob. $75... / avail. yet Last edited by Classic Bowties; 02-26-2012 at 12:50 AM. Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Tom, as I had already posted above your tin (from the 67 s/w cluster) is already boxed and labeled for shipping to you, I always take extra time in posting clear pictures of any part that I offer here. After you have viewed the pics and then said I'll take it, it is not my problem that the next 69 dash cluster (I originally said in 1st post that "I may part") has a cleaner rear tin than the one you have already paid for. This thread w/clear pics along with the "who was inline for what" was well kept I thought, and also the reason why I did the dashes separately, now you are wanting to cause confusion while jumping ahead of others for a later posted piece? If you are building a show truck as you say, then you already know what is involved in doing so and these tins would be blasted and re-finished anyhow making your issue null and void. Not that I should have to but, as of right now we can wait and see what Wes decides on the one with the extra hole in rear (as you are punching out for tach anyhow), or I can unpackage your rear tin and media blast the back side and re-take pictures for you, or I can just refund your paypal payment. Let me know which option you would prefer, Mel

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Do you want to deal with it in the open or thru pm's? Your pm sounds like we all can work out the problems

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
If the rules are that everything is public then I'm the problem. Pt started this threat for me as my wtb thread because during the week I work and I can't be by a computer. On Friday am I contacted mel via phone as I was driving to a meeting and told him I would take everything but that I wouldn't be by a computer until later that day. When I was able to get back to a computer everyone had jumped in and all the parts but the tin were spoken for. I was bummed at that point but did not say anything. Then I see two additional tins and parts offered in my wanted to buy threat and they are all much better then the one I was offered . At that point I was really disappointed as this is for my show truck that I've been building for over 10 years and all of this is going in in my topic. I asked Mel when i saw this late yesterday if I could please also by one of the less corroded tins and Mel being a gentlemen is trying to see if there is a way to make everyone happy. That is the situation. I'm not happy right now at all and Mel is trying to see if there is a way with the other interested parties to hopefully make us all happy. If one of the other two people interested in the tins could see this from my perspective and help I cannot tell you how thankful I'd be. I only need one tin but I will buy more then one if that is what it takes to get a non corroded one

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
Thanks for posting to fill us in and I do understand your frustration... I agree with Mel though that if you're building this as a show quality cluster, I'd have him blast the tin and paint. Both tins have some rust from what I saw.....

Re: WTB speed warning rear tin with brass pin
There are three tins and the one offered to the topic originator is clearly not as good as the other ones also offered in this topic. Mel did offer to blast the tin and said it would clean up perfect. I said all I'm after is a good tin for my build so there are more then one way to hopefully make everyone happy

mel, here is my paypal....jXXXXXXX@verizon.net Could you do me a favor and take some pics for measurements I need the locations for.... Cable Brass pin on tin Grounding clip Seems like im not in the running for the tin, so i will have to convert mine Thank you for your time and the sale. Im getting close to a complete s/w dash Got the tach/vac, cruise control and tilt, 80lb oil gauge. So, your pieces could be the last part of the puzzle Jim Jaros Hi Jim, the only pictures I have are posted in that thread and now both dashes are torn apart. I feel you are still up for a rear tin as there are only three of you inline, and I have the three rear tins available. I just need to see what happens with the first guy not wanting the one he had originally agreed to buy, all are nice usable pieces that could be restored to show quality if refinished. If you want the first 67 rear tin without the speedo head grounding clip and mounting screws (screws are same as non s/w) then I would go $50. on it and we could wrap your deal up and I will send you an invoice on the 69 s/w speedo head, the 67 rear tin and the 69 adjustment cable nut and knob. Also if you want one of the two original S/W outer plastic bezels for id'ing adjustment cable drilling location, then I will give it to you for free with you other purchases, just realize that the shipping cost will be a little bit higher do to a bigger box being needed. Let me know here or you can also call me if you want, Mel. |
