what color is this in ppg codes?

I'm sure some of you have seen this truck before. I am planning to paint mine red and white also and want to go with this red color. My painter told me he could match ppg paint easily. He uses a matrix painting system. Does anyone know what color this is? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can probably find the paint codes for the '71 in the link below if you think they are close enough. I sold it shortly after I finished it but I kept the codes because I want to paint another truck the same color. It turned out great. It was PPG base coat/clear coat.

My '39 Ford Coupe is painted with the Matrix System. It is Cherry Red. I have the number for it also...

Yep the truck looks great Leon. I looked through your post. Could you get me the ppg color code and name. It looks like it may be a little diff than the ford, but maybe it is just with the white throwing me off. Thanks so much.

The '71 and the '39 are different color reds for sure. I will look for the numbers in the morning.

I didn't have any luck finding the left over paint. I must have given it to the guy that bought the truck. I did find a can of spray paint the other day when I was looking for something else, that I had made up for touch up or painting small parts. The paint I used on the truck was PPG OMNI Base Coat - Clear Coat. The information on this spray can is as follows.

Manufacturer: Queens Surface Bus Company
Brand Code: 3794 Main Layer: 3794 ALT
Oem Code: FLEET
Description: Safety Red-Maintenance
Mixing Scheme: OMNI AU (MAE)
Price Code: D
VOC Reg. 4.45 lbs/Gal
Variant:ALT (LF)
MSDS: MAE3

When you put the base coat on you will be shocked because it has a pink tint to it. As soon as you put the clear on it, it turns into the most beautiful Red you ever saw. The White is not a pure White, It is 1956 Chevrolet India Ivory. It really compliments this red paint.

Re: what color is this in ppg codes?

If I am remembering correctly, The Torch red is a car color and Victory red is a truck color, same color different names. Something to think about because all things with the Corvette name linked to it makes it more costly.

You're right, Victory Red was used on trucks, but it was also used on Corvettes on 2008. It is PPG 4154 and is a darker red than Torch.

You're right about the Corvette tax, but when it comes to paint, all reds and yellows cost more than other colors.

Torch red has more of an orange tint to it (especially under flourescent lights). Victory red is a cleaner/truer red. True dat on the cost! It was over $400/gallon.... I'm trying to get the paint code from my painter and I'll post the code when I do.
