Dome light help

Does anyone know where the orange and whit wires that come from the dome light attach? Mine got caught up in my grinder a while back and I can't figure out where it goes!
Is it into the headlight switch?
My little light at your feet still works by the way

Re: Dome light help

Give me 5 minutes, andI'll run out & check on my truck.I THINK the white goes to the light switch, and the orange SHOULD go to the fuse blck.
I have an orange wire, and a white wire that comes from the dome light ,under the carpet, and direcly to the back of the fuse block.

if all you did is slice through the wire with a grinder shouldn't there still be orange and white ends near the fuse block where you can see the ports?

Re: Dome light help

Not if they wrapped around the grinder, and it pulled them out. Either way, you'll have to disconnect the battery, and remove the inner side of the fuse bloc,to seewhere they were connected. Then, simply recrimp the wires back into the ends.
Give me a couple of days, and I'll pull the fuse block out of my GMC,and post a pic of it.IT should confirm where they go.

Re: Dome light help

That would be great! Nice to get this figured out.

The wires did get wrapped up in the grinder and gave me a nice gash in my leg in the process! Should have been more careful...lesson learned.

Re: Dome light help

Follow the wires from the light that works at your feet to find the orange wire as they are connected together at some point. The white one is a ground that usually connects to the door jamb switch that operates it.

The white wire also attaches to the headlight switch as well.

Re: Dome light help

Thanks everyone , it is hard for me to track down where those wires came from. I have looked everywher under the dash area for a place where it looks like something was ripped off of broken and can't find anything?

If anyone has a picture of the orange and the white wires actually going where they belong would help alot
