caster cab stand???
I need to do a bit of work on the rockers and floors by the rockers and I'd like to build a stand for my cab to be on so it can be worked on with it being off the frame so I can work on both the frame and the cab at the same time ....preferably something very similar to the pic I have attached that has casters so it can be moved around. Please give as much detail as you can so I can build something. A build diagram with a list of materials needed would be great.

I can do that Riz, My 74 measured center hole to center hole.
I sat my cab on a 4x8 flat bed trailer then flipped it up on the back of the cab to do rockers and floor pans, So it was look'n me in the face.....

may not be exactly what you're looking for, but my friend built this out of scraps he had around the shop to get his car up high enough so he could sit on a creeper chair and get underneath the car. with the casters he has on there he can roll the whole car around the shop by himself with ease.

I like this idea. I am ready to move the good cab I bought into the garage for painting. I have 2 extra sets of heavy casters laying around.

Yeah, I want to take the cab and box off so I can work on the frame and suspension but still work on the cab at the same time. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out how to build one with the info I have recieved. I'll post my results if I get to that point.

i just built a cab dolly this weekend to acommodate my crew cab modeled after some heavy duty sawhorses I saw online. It's all 2x4's and is I-beam construction w/ stringer boards around the legs. I took it one step further and added feet to the bottoms of the legs and casters. http://woodworking.about.com/od/shop...dSawhorses.htm

Wish I had that... I just bolted mine to an old frame (no engine trans etc, it just rolled) and it worked good for me...
