Independent Rear Suspension Kit
Does anybody have a link to the website that has a bolt in rear independent suspension kit for our trucks? I saw it in the new products section in a magazine but I can't seem to find it. Thanks for the help.

Re: Independent Rear Suspension Kit
Was it Corvette or something else? Flat out Engineering makes rear kits for 55-59's.

Re: Independent Rear Suspension Kit
It was using a thunderbird or mark viii rear setup. I think it was around $800 if i remember correctly.

Re: Independent Rear Suspension Kit
Team321 is the outfit you're talking about. They make a kit for the 55-59 and 73-87, but don't list anything for the 67-72. However with a bit of salesmanship one might be able to talk them into fabbing one up for our vintage rides. Here's a link.

I sent them an email, I would like to know if it can be done to our truck too

Re: Independent Rear Suspension Kit
i don't know if this interests you or not but i'll throw it out there. the mercedes mclass suv has a gorgeous zf independant rear setup with disc brakes. it sits in a cradle that flat out just bolts to the frame as a unit. i havent measured one to see how wide it is,nor done a lot of investigating but it could be worth your time, and they hold up to the amg 500 hp version so they are pretty tough.

Re: Independent Rear Suspension Kit
Ok guys I got an email back from Dave. He says it can be done but he needs a little help getting the some measurements.
I dont have acess to my truck right now its in a storage building while I am moving or I could get the needed info Here is what he sent me, details can be found in the link below... basically a profile view of the truck's frame and left / right separation distance viewed as if you were standing in the bed and looking down... of course it would help if the bed was removed... anyway, check out the link and let me know if you can email me the dimensions. http://team321.com/newtruckirsbrackets.html to give me some simple measurements / dimensions. If you can provide those to me, I can show you what an IRS will look like - superimposed on your truck's frame rails. I have done this with other vehicles, but can't get the Chevy info. I will go out and buy a truck frame - just to get these dimensions - if I have to... but I would prefer to work with a willing customer. thanks! dave

I just read where Heidts is making a independant rear suspension kit now. I have their front end kit in my street rod and it is great.
