Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

A little update from the weekend my RCD bilstein shocks are in and they are on the frame. All my components are installed. Next I’m going to remove the brake calipers and paint them, then install my wheels.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

Sup guys,

I have not been working on my truck due to having to work on a rental unit. The tenant was a complete slob /hoarder! I have never seen anyone live like this. There was so much car hair I had to empty the shop vac 3 times!!! Check out a picture of her ice box!! WTF…WOW… I know it took me 4 hours to clean it and she was still using it!!!! I’m thinking it will take me 2 or 3 more weekends to get the place ready to rent. Then back to work on the truck.

Later Guys

No updates. I have been killing it at my rental for the past 4 weekends. trying to have it ready for the first. New laminate, tile, paint, lighting, plumbing, cleaning and more cleaning. Its about done. Im hoping this weekend it will be done. then back to the truck. This weekend I will try to stop by my buddys house and get some updated pictures of the cab.

Dhpenner,

You are right about the rear brakes. Im running a 94-96 Impala ss disk brake setup. I bought the brackets from Captain fab and all the other parts form all over the internet. I have about $300 invested in the setup with all new parts.

Re: I think i can!!! - SWB 72 Step-side

Very nice built, i like the go big or go home attitude toward this built. Lol. However, i have a question concerning the front x-member. When u sectioned it, was it to help lay out the truck frame and raise the overall x-member clearance? If so what overall steering/suspension mods do u have to do? Can u keep stock gearbox and tie rods etc? That would be easierfr me to do to layout my front end. Im following this one. How low does it lay out when completely airred out?

I sectioned the x-member to raise it plus i moved it forward 1.25''. I could not keep the stock gearbox and tie rods, but i think it was due to moving it forword. This was no problem because i wanted to use a rack kit. If you want to use the stock steering parts and lay frame just Z your frame.
