'70 front end swap question

Hey,

I have read lolife's excellent drum to disc conversion thread, but just wanted to clear up a few things before I tackle this project.

Here's what I have:

I purchased a complete front crossmember out of an '88 suburban. It has the 1.25" rotors, and he also included all of the steering parts, including the power steering box, and he threw in a proportioning valve from a '71-'72 truck.

The '88 front end will have to be cleaned up, and I plan on buying new tie rods, ball joints, callipers, and drop spindles etc. and start fresh.

I also just ordered a front/rear air bag and schrader kit from AVS. I plan on skipping the schrader valves, and not putting the truck back on the road until I get my hands on compressor(s), tank(s), valves etc. which hopefully shouldn't be too long

My truck currently has front drums with power steering and power brakes.

My questions:

I just dropped my 454 in last summer, and was debating whether or not I should pull the motor to do this conversion. I would prefer not to, but was wondering if there is any advantage to running the '88 crossmember rather than keeping my current crossmember and a-arms, and switching out the spindles, ball joints etc?

If I swap out the front steering parts (from the steering box out), will this eliminate the confusion and need of running two separate years of tie rods and conversion sleeves.

And finally is any of this really worth it if I plan on purchasing drop spindles and will have to replace the rotors, callipers, ball joints etc. anyways? or should I just try and sell this front end and steering parts (which I paid $120 for)?

This is my first conversion so any and all help is greatly appreciated.
