Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

I'm sorry for the lack of updates. I have made a lot of changes to the suspension plans. The main change is the truck will now have Dutchman quick change independent rear. Also it will have C Z06 control arms and knuckles on all 4 corners with 16" Baer brakes. I also have the transmission package coming together, a T56 magnum 6 speed rated to the HP of the motor. Between the quick change rear, 16" rear brakes, Z06 suspension and transmission package with a carbon fiber drive shaft it has been an expensive month.

Here is the truck set up at ride height. The long bed was cut down to the size of a short bed just for mock up. I have a short bed to put on it when it gets home.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

For those of us that can only dream of something like this, we need to live vicariously through this build! Some updates on the progress would be greatly appreciated, this is one of the premier builds I have ever come across.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

I should have some updates in the next week or so. I asked Nate for some help building a weld in dropmember for my F-350 dually so this got put on hold during that. I know not many people on this site like Fords but this is my daily driver and it's going to be the tow rig for the c-10 so it needed a makeover. Here are a few pictures of the truck. It's going to lay the rockers out on 26" dually wheels. The truck is an 2005 but I put a 2012 front clip on it.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

I'll let you off the hook on the '86 seeing as there was progress being made on yet another insanely awesome project. That front clip swap looks sweet! I don't care what it is a slammed dually looks killer!

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

My only objection to this project is the tires and rims, you should go with drag slick setup on it.. that's just my opinion. The rest is absolutely amazing.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

with 1600 hp and 275 tires, i'm think it'll be able to pull of a burnout at a 65 mph roll, no big deal

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build

Love the tow rig.

What year front end is the swap from? Is it pretty well bolt on or does it require mods?
