Re: nice set of buddy buckets
OK. I've been looking at this posting for some time and now I'm interested.
Some questions/assumptions: 1. You state that the foam is in good shape, so I'm going to assume that I won't need to replace it before covering the seats. 2. Is the driver's seat the only seat that can slide forward and backward? 3. Can you post a picture of the seats with the back rest of the middle seat folded down (so that I can see what the "arm rest" looks like) and the middle seat folded out (so I can see the compartment underneath it)? 4. I live in Hayward, CA. Would you consider meeting me somewhere between Paradise and Hayward for me to pickup the seats, e.g., Sacramento? I am interested in your seats so please don't think I'm jerking you around when asking for more pictures. I need to talk to a "local expert" to get his opinion on how well the seats will work for me. I will try to get ahold of him tomorrow and then I will get back to you and we can discuss this further. Then you can post the pictures if you decide you want to do so. Thanks! Roy |

Re: nice set of buddy buckets
Roy, the foam does not need to be replaced its in good shape. the drivers seat does slide foward and backwards and I am including a new stainless steel lever for that purpose. I have no problem meeting you half way. thanks Rick

Re: nice set of buddy buckets
Rick, the reason I want to go with bucket seats, after driving my truck over the last 40 years with a bench seat, is that I am disabled with severe back problems and two replaced hips. I am a big guy (270 lbs, 6' 3"). My bench seat doesn't give me enough support and I'm not confortable in it any more. I'm looking for something that is well-padded and has a little support on the sides.
I talked to Bill at Vintage Chevy in a Fremont, CA, who has a large shop that only deals in 67-72 Chevy trucks and parts. Unfortunately, he doesn't think buddy buckets will work for me. He says that I may need some kind of custom seat to fit my needs. So .. I'm going to have to pass. I'm disappointed - I've been looking for awhile and I thought I'd found my new seats when I saw yours. Sorry if I put you through any inconvenience. Your seats would have looked good in my truck (after installing new covers) and you are offering them at a real good price. I'm sure they wold work great for a person who has less extreme needs. Good luck in selling them. Best, Roy |

Re: nice set of buddy buckets
Roy, the trucks I have been in with buddy buckets seem to have abit more room and are more comfortable. I would find a board member in the bay area and see if they will work for you?

Re: nice set of buddy buckets
That's a really good idea. Buying a seat without first sitting in one like it makes me very nervous. I'm going to make a post and see if anyone in the Bay area has buddy buckets and regular buckets that I can sit in. There's a lot of money at stake and I don't want to buy seats twice.
Thanks! |
