Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

G'day fella's ! heres my rough 70 stepper ..Ive just had this imported across to me in Oz .. Ive had it a week or so now and it needs a LOT of work.. no inner fenders , front & rear bumpers, dash wiring is gone , column bearings are shot, no indicators or wiring , no trans mount ! , 2 broken engine mounts , shockers are shot , hand brake mech is missing, needs 4 tyres ect ect ,, it does start and runs well ..im still figuring these trucks out as im noticing they have specific parts as in coil rear for specific shockers , engine mounts etc. Ive owned several camaros over the years and still have a 69 .
I think this stepper has drop spindles? 5 lug hubs, disc brakes , custom home made grill insert? feel free to enlighten me about these .. Im enjoying the reading and pics here and hope to be able to contribute from time to time !
cheers, Gav

Re: Patina, shop logo'd, rusty trucks?

I know this is the 67-72 guys but, I was thumbing thru the tread and saw some other AD's. I'm partial to the +/- '70 models anyway, my first ride was a '71 Cheyenne10 pea yellow and white made the same month and year I was born.....if I only still had it. Here's my '52 I have now and ironically my Dad was born in 1952. I built this truck and did the logo in tribute to my late father in law Fred aka "Freddy".

When asked how I made it look old and faded I tell them it's pure neglect.

You were close. It's a 1960. Great patina though. I wonder what the story behind the old truck is?

Some trucks I've caught in Sweden.
I'm sorry for the OF Fords. Should I remove them?

HA! All the way from SWEDEN!! No need to remove the F$%ds as long as your chevs outnumber them... Thanks for posting, some cool trucks over there. Hard to imagine these old things being thought of as "foreign" trucks....

You have the exact look I am after for my 72 SWB step! Can you tell me some info on your truck, such as what the backspacing is on your slots, what size tire you are running, how much drop and how it is doen front and rear? I currently have a set of 4 15 x 8 ET's, but they are 5 x 4.75. I was close to buying a set of 5 x 5's and the seller flaked on me at the last minute. I am even considering adapters to run the car wheels on the truck!
