I had a 72 lemans wagon a couple of years ago, and someone stole the battery connectors. Not the cables, just the little pieces that clamp down on the battery They left a brand new battery sitting right there. I was wonder if someone was trying to "mind screw" me...lol

I dont know about using a louisville slugger on a thief being legal or not but I think it is ok to handcuff a thief to a tree out in the woods infested with bears and coat them with bacon grease.

I don't know how it is north of the border, but if you beat up a thief down here, and they could prove that you were baiting them into your yard, the theif would proably sue your for damages and get away with it. You might be able to get away with "detaining" the theif until you called the cops, but that is really it w/o fear of getting sued....

After dark you have the right to use deadly force to protect your property. If you are afraid of getting sued just make sure you finish the job. Dead crooks don't testify.

I've got a good one..... In high school I had a little pos escort gt. I had a 10" subwoofer and an alpine amp in the back. I was rear ended and pushed undernieth a ford ranger. Well....My dad and I pulled it home and parked it in the drive way. After about two weeks of it sitting I decided to pull my stereo equipment out of it. The funny thing is, that night some jack asses broke the window out of a totalled car to steal the stereo. I got a free set of needle nose pliers out of the deal.... About two weeks later this big old "gangsta" was talking to me in one of my classes about how they broke in to this wrecked pos and the only thing that was in it was the amplifier wires....... Sorry bastards...... That's why I don't have high end stereo equipment...... Oh and my antenna on the 70' was ripped off at the base in my driveway by some punk about a month ago....

i agree with locutus. dead men dont tell lies. hehe. i once had someone pop my hood an jack a brand new beautiful edlbrock air cleaner, nice triangle one. luckily, our school has cameras everywhere, including the parking lot. i got the principal to chow me the tape, then beat the hell outta the guy. he gave my air cleaner back. nobody in our school messes with my truck now. its great.

Called the cops one time about someone trying to steal the radio out of the wifes car. Asked the cops if it was okay to beat the s### out of them next time? They said no. I asked what would happen if the next time in their haste to vacate the property, they ran into the tree out front? Cop said,"S### happens". Asked, "what would happen if they ran into the tree 3-4 times? Cops said, "S### don't happen that often". We now have the 5 dog security system.

LMFAO!!

I can feel your pain 67CST - sounds like a neighborhood I used to live in, in Rutland. Litte house full of crackheads lived across the street, broke into my car and stole my CD deck, amp (was in the process of replacing as that was burnt up inside - so essentially a paperweight with a fancy LED light!) about 25 CDs, one (out of two) tweeters (why only one, I'll wrack up to them being crack smoking idiots), and a few other things. Destroyed my dash, wrecked the back seat by bending it out, trying to get in the trunk where my subs/EQ/amps were (never got in, thank christ!) Thing that was the most expensive to replace was the little friggin window they smashed out!!

67cst that reminds me one time someone broke into my truck a couple of years back, broke the wing window, starting to take my CDs and other stuff. Luckily me dad heard the noise outside, chased after him, but got our Louisville slugger out the truck and went after him. Didn't know no how fast my dad could run til then. It was an awesome sight. Looked like a scene from the gang movie "Warriors. "They were running so fast, the thief couldn't hold on to any of his new, stolen merchandise. Since then my dad always has two Louisville sluggers under my truck's bench seat....Just in case...

When I was looking at buying my 68, it was on the side of a highway in the parking lot of a shop. I went and looked at it and then asked the guy about it. Everything had worked before, but someone tried to hotwire it and screwed up all the underdash wiring, enough that wipers, heater, gauges and other crap didnt work. I guess they got pissed because they couldnt get it to work. So maybe they decided to vent their anger.<next> Anyway, I went over there to drive it and he had the hood open and his other new truck was sitting beside it with the door open. He started up the old truck and a stream of tranny oil shot out of the hood into his cab of his new truck. Seems that the people who were screwing with the truck got mad and cut the tranny cooler line for no reason. What assholes, if Im getting stolen from, I hope I catch someone in the process of doing it, I just want to scare the living hell out of them with some gunfire. Then turn them in.

Derek, I've had those tips fall off no matter how tight those two screws were. There is alot of vibration from the exhaust. Just trying to ease your mind, good chance that maybe it wasn't stolen at all.
