Re: My Coy's came today!

Grinding the rotor will fix your problem, the weird thing is I have one set that needed the rotor ground and the other did not, I bought both sets used. The burb's just bolted on.

Re: My Coy's came today!

Do you have an early rear housing under it? If you measure from backing plate to backing plate, how wide is it? 55.5" or 57" ?

Sorry no pix but it's the same issue as Frank had in this post. I'll probably do what he did.

FYI, I'm not sure if this problem has been fixed or not? I have made spacers and custom centercaps to clear the dust cover on the front for these wheels.
I don't have any at the time but may be something I will consider making again in the future.

Re: My Coy's came today!

I'm fairly certain it's the wider rear axle but I never actually measured it. Another clue is I don't think the wheels would tuck aired out (bags someday) if they stuck out another 3/4"

Cool Re: My Coy's came today!

stomper, sorry it took so long to get back to you.

those were the problems I was thinking of. They said they were fixed. I guess not.

I went with the Boss 383's wheels. No problems after they grinded the front hub just a little and 1/2" spacers on back for wheel well clearance..

I also put 1/2" spacers on back and bought 10 new lug nuts for it that had a deeped shank.

Cool Re: My Coy's came today!

Here are my pictures hub grinded with tires mounted in above pictures above.
My back only rubbed when I would hit holes in the road.

Hub grinded and painted.

Before spacer.

After.

The rear tire bulge is only about 1/2" so the clearance concern I had on the inside rear is fine. The taller rear tires gave it more rake than I care for. I'm going to install 1-1/2" blocks to make it more to my liking. Will still be able to run the 15" rallys. Then I'll probably need bags to bump it back up when I have the rallys on. 255/40 front and 295/40 rear.

My favorite shot

Looks really nice man! Great job. I haven't decided 100% but this same wheel is at the top of the list for my GMC.

If you are asking because you might think it would be hard it rides fine. I'm 45 this year and over loud pipes and stuff like that. I wouldn't sacrifice alot of comfort. It really hugs corners with the stock sway bar and ride quality isn't notably compromised with the thin sidewall. I love it. Now rear blocks...

Re: My Coy's came today!

got the cad file to have 1/4" thick spacers made so you dont have to grind the hubs. free to anyone who wants a copy. email me at
fatboys6969@gmail.com and I will send it to you. I used 1/4" aluminum on mine.
works great !!!

Now with 1-1/2" lowering blocks so I guess it's a 4/7.5 drop.

Yes! looks perfect. I know each truck is different but I bet mine will need blocks too. Glad to here the ride is good with those tires/wheels. I can't wait to get mine going.

What's next for your truck?
