Help me!

I just bought/ am buying an original one owner 71 GMC 1/2 fleet. Its a base model with 3 on the tree and a 250 I-6. I was going to go pick it up on monday, so I asked the current owner to go and get it safty checked for me, id do it myself but its an 8 hour drive. The truck is in great shape (mostly) with no rust, and at first glance the only problem I knew of was a broken radio. I got it for 2250$ canadian, which I think (or thought) is pretty fare. At the time I thought it had a 292, but whatever.

So the truck went to get safty inspected, and it needs new tires, and that cost a fair amount because they had a hard time locating 16 inch tires. I had to get all the fluid changed and a valve cover leak fixed since Im driving it back. They also changed a seal in the exaust manifold. Then when they were testing it, they blew the exaust manifold. They tried finding me a new one, but GM doesnt make them anymore and they only knew of one second hand manifold, which the company just crushed because nobody wanted it.

So what Im wondering is if there is some place I could order one, or rather the mechanic can order one. I looked and found nothing.

So do you still think the truck is worth 2250?

look on the parts board, there may be one for sale, and you could do a wanted to buy thread.
Sounds like your getting ripped to me, every tire place you look has 16 inch tires.

PM me if you need a manifold. I've got several laying around I'd sell.

Kevin

BTW, 16 inch tires are just as popular as 15s nowdays.
