My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

Now that I have your attention. Would you guys like a clear write up of how it's done?

Think of any questions now so I can post a clean how to later

Re: My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

You have to use the filler for plastic it will flex a little normal bondo will crack.

Re: My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

I posted it before but here is mine repaired.

repaired the cracks with fiberglass and filled in the defrost vents and speaker with fiberglass, then sanded and smoothed it out with bondo. able to wrap the whole top without and stitches. only stitch is the face of the dash right above the gauge bezel.

Re: My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

Yah tweed is a lot more forgiving around corners and such. I could have wrapped mine with only one stitch in the middle but I like the baseball stitching. I will get a how to going soon when I have some free time. If you guys would like specific pictures of a section or so then I can collect them now and get them organized and ready. Here is a finished product

What material did you use? Where is it from? How did you stick it on dash?

Used some faux leather from
Amazon .com and scotch brand super 77 spray glue. Just one can

As for the center speaker hole yea I have a speaker there. Two smaller in the sides 6x9s in the back and kick panel 6.5s soon as well

Re: My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

That turned out great! Did you find it difficult to reinstall the covers for the defrost vents? I finished mine up last night.

Re: My dashboard sneak peak/ how to?

No if anything I liked the fit better with the extra layer leather. Made it look more refined. The only toug part was it took a little massaging to get back in the truck
