Pat's Driveline on 50th Street.
They did a good job but it was $500 to finish it. Ouch!

Ever figure out the high beam indicator problem? If not, give me some time....I've had the same problem before, just can't remember what I did to fix it. It'll come back to me tho!

I'm thinking that the power and ground are mixed up some how...that the light needs constant power and the high beam switch, when engaged, provides the ground/negative to activiate the indicator light?? I'm not 'positive' though....lol I'm so punny!!

Thank you!! I was in Seoul a month ago, what are you doing there?
If you ever want to sell your truck, let me know....I love the look of that one!! (I would a few months lead time though to save up some extra cash so my wife doesn't freak out!!!)

I'm here with the US Army until 2014. If you're ever back this way, PM me and we'll catch a beer or something in Seoul. As for selling the truck, I don't ever see that happening and somewhere forum member BigArmZZ is saying get in line. ( he built it...lol) thanks for the compliment, though. I really lucked out!

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E
I thought they made it too short, but I checked and there was about 5 inches of the shaft in the yolk. We'll see how it works out.
Put diff oil in today, put on my striped drive shaft, refilled the tranny fluid, put on the AN 4L80 AN line adapters, and then got the garage cleaned out so I can prime the f'er this week! Like the guys say in the Paint section, it's called 'body WORK' not 'body FUN'. I think I'm in for a lot of WORK this week!

nice job Gordon.... you are way more ambitious than I am i like Old school original but thats me.... I am planning on a 95 LT1 swap into my 77 elcamino sometime in the future.
aftermarket parts never fit the greatest, but they work.... BTW you weld better than I do... but i am only using a hobart with flux core since I dont have the gas hook ups

First time the truck has sat it's wheels on the ground in a LONG time....seems that it looks okay.
Just trying to get everything positioned so I can start primer by Friday...we will see how it goes tomorrow

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E
Plan is to be at the Street Wheelers show on July 14th...I'm hoping!
Got the high build primer done yesterday. Started priming with my TP Tools turbine gun that I just bought last year, it worked fine then but about half way through I heard a big bang and I ran to check the unit in the other room and it was smoking...NOT GOOD! I grabbed it and ran it outside in case she started on fire but it didn't. Not sure what the problem was but it was definitely dead. Will not run, stinks of burnt plastic, I hope TP Tools will refund my money because with extra parts & shipping I have about $1,000 into it. So what to do with a unit that I can't get parts or warranty quickly in Canada...I went out and bought a Deblivis gun to get through the next week. It works fine and I finished yesterday, will start sanding the guide coat today.

My wife says it looks like a crime scene!
Yeah, call me to come over whenever...just after this next week as I want to get it painted then I can unmask all the plastic so there's something worthwhile to look at instead of how it is now.

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E
Been sanding for two days...
It seems as though everything that I primed with my original gun had a texture like stucco. I thought it would sit better but something was definitely wrong. Very hard to sand but I'm getting there, an hour each panel, 2.5 hours each bedside! I hope I don't have to sand again for a very long time...

Re: "The Ayatollah of Rusty Hole'a 1987 SWB 6.0 4L80E
Got the basecoat done today...5 coats!
Do NOT want any tiger-striping on this paintjob so did a very good job coating today with my new gun. Had a few drips because a nut was loose but caught it pretty quick. Sanded down the motor covers, wasn't going to paint them but decided now is the time if I am going to do it. Very happy with the Debliviss or however you spell that!
