Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

Well we went, ate at my favorite Japanese joint (too much) with my favorite (only, but still favorite) brother and sis-in law, He got lucky, computer spit out 11 seats from center front row. His pics are really good. Show was GREAT, had a good time. Hope to be back at it today.

Update: sipping Shiner and shooting basecoat. Film @ 11! If you're inclined to prayer, I'd start now.

Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

Ta-Daaaaa! (disclaimer: poster is jack of all trades and master of none!) Interior is painted! Couldn't do cut-ins on doors, ran out of everything. And it flipped cold on me, which causes problems. Had a few runs, but it's all under other stuff. Sand out the dirt and good to go! Here's the pics, as promised!

After the first round of base-

Feels like a big weight off. Now, to cut-ins and prep to get this pig off the road and strip 'er down! Thanks for all the reinforcement, guys, it helps.

Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

Why, thanks, Tink, but I think you'll like this better. So, I got the paint on but it was full of trash, and small runs, and orange peel. Ah, but there's an ace in the hole. I actually do know how to wetsand and polish fresh paint. So, it's on, let's fix it!

Razor blades to get the trash/runs gone-

More blading-

Sanded blade marks out w/1000 grit, then 1200, then-

Polished with cutting creme on wool, Meguiar's 9 and 3.

Ooooooh, shiny! (much better)

Thanks for playin' along, folks!

Re: Boppa's old yeller truck

Well you did make it look great, back in the day I had a friend that hard a real hard tine getting everything right for a lacquer paint job. But he was the best cut and buff guy you would ever meet. I think it is the end result we all are after, lots of ways to get there. Keep up the good work
