Re: New dash board

Those are spot welded in so you would have to drill the spot welds out to get the dash out of the truck.

I guess I had better add, are you putting a 56 dash back in the truck or changing to something else? If you are changing you can run a sawzall or cut wheel along and inch or so into the dash and cut the dash out that way and have something to fasten the new dash to but that doesn't work if you are putting a stock dash back in.

Are you going back with an original or something custom?

Re: New dash board

What is SO wrong with the original that you feel you have to replace it rather than repair it?

Re: New dash board

If one of the tri-5 guys has the 55/57 or 59 assembly manual They may be able to copy and post the page that shows were the spot welds are that hold the dash in. You will have to drill/cut each of those out so the old dash comes out.

This is a reprint that is sold on Ebay There is a lot of extra stuff in them but they do usually have diagrams and measurements for installing each panel and each chassis part on a stock truck. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1955-56-57-5...958014&vxp=mtr
