disc brake conversion
I have a 1956 Chevy 3100,a custom with drum brake brakes all around.Does not stop very well sometimes since it has a GM Performance Parts ZZ4 350 crate engine under the hood.Bought the truck a couple weeks ago already done and I like the truck.Luckily a good friend of mine has a front disc conversion kit for it brand new in the box and is going to be done this weekend at his place.I have been told I am better off having the the conversion than fixing the problem since it has a V8 now.I am thinking of having the rear converted to disc too,the rear end is a 12 bolt.Should I have the rear done too?I am about to order a rear disc brake set up for it.I did check the vin on it,had the straight 6 from the factory at one time.Drove it to work,I had to push on the brakes and would work sometimes.

Re: disc brake conversion
I would go all 4 wheel disc brakes myself.Yes it will cost a little more but in the end you will have a truck that stops alot better.
For you making a purchase on a rear brake kit we can help you out for sure.If you would like to have more info you can call us at the shop or e-mail us if you would like to.You can reach us at 805 485-0382 or justin@scottshotrods.com Justin |
