Its Here! Kevin (Kevsclassics) did a fine job on my column. I opted for the short van shift lever.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Chuck I have read over your build thread several times.

I like all of the attention you have given to the small details. All of the work you have done to restoring the engine and engine bay is just beautiful. Most of all I love the steeles and chrome GMC hubcaps. That just sets it off as something different.

Keep up the great work!

Keith

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Thanks Keith,
I keep saying it I know, but I need to get to work on it. I am going to organize some things and make a punch list to start on. With every other thing going on here so I just barely have time to watch a ball game lol.
We went to St. Louis Yesterday and watched my Cards lose to the Braves.
I sold some more parts so maybe I can buy some parts now. Oh I forgot I have a 25th anniversary coming up so I don't know. We'll see.

The tilt looks amazing! I need more info about the rebuild. I just picked up a tired original truck tilt on the board and it needs some love. If it doesn't cost too much I would love to have it rebuilt.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I know, the tilt looks like new. If you pm Kevin I'm sure he will give you a quote. I don't want to post the price he gave me. He might have gone up and I don't want to start any confusion. Its well worth it to me. I priced rebuilt ones and new aftermarket ones and I feel that an original was the way to go. Mine has new levers, wiring, lens looks new. Grease in proper places. I'm sure he can inform you of all he does to them. I will use him again if I have another to do.

Its metallic so its a little more than a solid base like the original color on my truck but I think it will be worth it. Chrome looks good next to this color.
I vote 1000% yes on that color. That's the color I'm going to paint mine whenver I get to that point. I love that color, it is very beautiful. I don't know the paint code yet, but I will use the one from Lexus, which is very similar. Here's the color........

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I couldn't finish my fuel lines today since my truck has a couch on the rear. (sons) It'll be gone around the first of the month. He and his girlfriend are getting an apt.
So I decided to clean and prime the door panels. Got some stuff ready for a swap meet. Selling all my extras.

I'm thinking of changing my interior color to black. Like the dash pad, door panels, seat, since my rubber floor mat, column and dash bezel are already looking great and are black. I'm also thinking of buying black aftermarket seat belts that are 3 point. Give me some feedback guys.

Nah if you say it its just confirmation buddy. I should have known I had the wrong color when I couldn't find a great set of original seat belts.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Well, I started wet sanding the door panels and got one done as it started raining, then hailing. Had to stop and start throwing boxes on top of the trucks in the driveway to prevent hail damage. Luckily the hail stayed small and it all stopped. The sun popped out and I was back at it. I wet sanded the other panel and got them both primed again. I have some pits on the drivers side one. The blaster got all the rust off and I think that the primer will take care of the small pits. I have one spot that will take some glazing down lower on the drivers too. I worked it out with a dolly earlier so it will be very thin/minimal.
