700r4 shift linkage

Does anyone else know, or have input as to what shift linkage they used in swapping in an O.D.? There are several threads on here regarding swapping them in, but no details as to the linkage, so I assumed that the old TH 350/ 400 linkage would work on the 700R4 I am installing. (Not the case) I have all of the stock TH350 pieces (rod, frame brackets and intermediate piece that slips over stud n frame bracket). The selector shaft is different on the 700r4, so it looks like I will need to cut each of the two selector shaft brackets apart and make a hybrid. I am also looking at a lokar set up that eliminates the fulcrum and goes straight from the colum down to the trans. Has anyone had any experience with this piece?

Re: 700r4 shift linkage

I have a 700r4 in my Truck and used stock linkage . I modified the shift section of the column and it hits all gears. Only the downshift is different and needs a bracket at the carb to fix it. But linkage is the same as my th350..sept makin the shifter go down farther to get to first gear..

Re: 700r4 shift linkage

I was able to use all the stock linkage with my swap, just had to swap the bracket from the th350 on to the 700r4, everything lined up fine.
