Interior colors

I have a 1970 c/10 and the sticker has been removed from the glove box. The exterior color is orange and the best I can tell it is factory. My question is what color did the interior come with the orange and white exterior. Thanks in advance.

Re: Interior colors

I'll dig out my data book when I get home but I want to say red, black, saddle, and parchment(white) were available without an override. Trim level and seat type also could be a factor. What color do you think it was?

Re: Interior colors

You could get any color you wanted. Certain differences in what was offered existed according to what trim level the truck had. First, you need to establish if it's a C/10,Custom/10,or a CST/10. It may either be Hugger Orange or Tangiers/Omaha Orange. If you show pictures we can help you decipher how it came.

Re: Interior colors

I think the interior came black, and the truck is a cst/10. I think I asked the question wrong. I'm trying to decide what color to go with on the interior if I paint the truck orange and white with the upper and lower trim moldings. I'm not sure how the color combinations came for the interior with the orange and white exterior. Sorry for any confusion and thanks for any advice.

Re: Interior colors

Well if I'm understading, you want to paint the truck orange/ white two tone with a black interior. So then it would be either orange with a white roof (type A) or orange/ white roof/ white below lower moldings (type C). Note, the white stripe between the upper and lower moldings was not offered in '70. The metal inside would generally be body color, orange in this case. The seat, seat belts, door panels, dash pad, visors, and carpet would be black. Here are some pictures to help. Of course if you want to be different the truck was offered in hugger orange with a black roof (type B).

Re: Interior colors

Parchment looks good because for an interior color that matches an exterior color. Other colors that go well with those paint colors would be black, saddle,or what they called gold but is more of a tan. Black would be commonly used and is a color found elsewhere on the truck, such as in trim accents and,of course, the tires and window rubber. To me,parchment would look cleanest. I like saddle, too, but maybe more with less white paint (like top-only) or solid orange.

Re: Interior colors

That seat is a Custom Deluxe seat, I don't think a '70 CST would have a cloth seat. I actually think that pic is the seat in my truck. It's a Hugger Orange '71

First off, it is not your seat.
Second where did you get CST from? This is a recycled thread in case you missed the dates.
His question was phrased as a "Custom" that would be a Z62 Custom Comfort and Appearance trim. Which morphed into Custom Deluxe in 71-72.
The cloth would appear as shown in black.
Here are two more angles of a blue 70 Z62 for reference with the B30 carpet.

Re: Interior colors

Ok, I missed that this was an old thread, but the OP said his truck was a CST, that's where I got it from, I was just stating that a '70 CST wouldn't have had a Custom Deluxe seat in it, that's all. Oh, and if that seat pic is a pic from a red orange '72 Custom camper that used to have a chassis mounted Chinook camper on it, then it is my seat,

Re: Interior colors

OK, I can see how that worked. Old threads are easy to get off track with. On the seat, the picture is one that Livrat sent me a large copy of when we were looking at buying his ex-Chinook chassis cab. So if that seat was transplanted into your 71 then I guess it is yours. There are as you know very few out there in such great condition especially black. My 72 Custom Deluxe Suburban didn't look that good in 83 with 70k on it.

Tim, do you have a pic of the truck this interior is in? That is the theme I want to use on my truck, but my wife thinks it would be too much blue.

Thanks,
Mark

Mark, Actually yes I do. The truck is a paint code 531 conventional two-tone consisting of 501(Ditzer 2163)Medium Blue Poly Blue with a 521(Ditzer 2185)White roof. Blue on blue was a very common color combo at the time and is easy to live with in the factory shades.
