Flowmaster

Well now that i got the headers put on and installed my new remflex gaskets it sounds all good but i noticed that the welds around the out let pipes on both mufflers are starting to crack and i have a few cracks in some pipe so time to install a new system, i plan on running 2 1/2 inch like i have now, i got the super 40s flow masters on there not and there not to loud for me, i did some research and i narrowed it down to either the flowmaster super 44 or the original 40, it will be running true dual off long tube flow tech headers, whats your opinion?

Re: Flowmaster

If yours cracked why get more? I think its time for something new. there are very many other mufflers that out ther that are cheaper, flow better and dont sound like a fart can on a v8

Re: Flowmaster

In my search for the tone I want, I ran many types of mufflers. I ran Flowmaster Series 44 on my 93 Silverado and of the many flowmasters I've ran myself and heard on other vehicles, those sound the best. They're also the only ones I know of (as of a few years back) that have round baffles and not just a mouse trap of flat peices.

But my personal favorite muffler (after going through ForzaFlow, Glass packs, Turbos, many kinds of Flowmasters, and traditional 3 tube design mufflers) are the Warlock Racing Mufflers. They have the perforated 3 pass tube design but are made of VERY heavy steel and have no packing. They are quieter on EFI setups but on carbureted engines they have such a classic tone. My dad put Hush Thrush mufflers on my Mom's 71 Buick Skylark (which has a carbureted 350) when she got it all those years ago and the Warlock mufflers are the closest thing I could find to that totally deep and full tone her car gives off. Not surprisingly I've since installed them on 3 different vehicles, but of course my 1972 Buick Electra with the 455ci engine sounds best. Maybe because its the only of the 3 that is carbureted (aside from having the most cubes). You can get Warlocks from Summit Racing, maybe other places too but I always got them from Summit.

But if you're gonna go with flowmaster, the series 44 I think have the deepest and best tone.

Re: Flowmaster

You should try Spintechs. They flow way better than flowmaster and have a great sound.
