Pick it up Tuesday...

If all goes well, and it should, I'll be pick her up on Tuesday.

Sorry for the ****ty phone camera, but I'll get some better pics up, when I get'r home.
It's a 2012 Chevy Silverado, 4x4, 4.8, bluetooth, mp3, on star, xm radio, pw/pl/pd, A/C, cruise, 40/20/40 seat, and chrome package.
I can't wait, this is the first brand new truck or car I have ever bought, pretty excited.

Nice truck. How does that 4.8 move it?

Pretty good actually. The new 4.8's are 302hp/305ft, which is only 10hp/30ft less then the 5.3. I haven't really got on it yet, because it's only got 110km on it and is still being broken in.

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

I'm already planning to put on a levelling kit, bigger tires, a tonneau cover, and spray in liner. But, that it. After that it's back onto the '84.

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

Took it in today to have a dual exhaust put on, I'm going with a thrush welded because I liked the sound on my old 97 Sierra with a 5.7.I've had it 6 days an only have only put 350km's on it and I'm already cutting it up .
Got a price on a levelling kit, it's a ready lift 2.25. Just gotta find out if 285/70/17's will fit.

I'll try and get a video of it when I go get it later. I'm pretty happy, now the truck sounds like a truck.

Got a vid, but I will do another one in a few weeks or more, after the exhaust is broken in, and I have a better camera

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

I did my 2011 with a Magnaflow setup and dual outlets. Good sound and a healthy change in flow. I also installed a set of Kooks headers on my 5.3.

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

Picked up a ready lift 2.25" levelling kit. Gonna be a bit before I get it on, gotta find the time to do it. Gonna run my stock tires for a bit, they are brand new after all, and eventually get some 285/70/17's on some aftermarket rims (haven't decided which yet). I might run some 255/80/17 on the stockers, if I can find some decent winter tires in that size (it's not looking good).

Damn you saskatchewan!

I try in vain to keep this truck clean. But when it rains out here this happens every time...

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

Had a little of this today

Which lead to a lot of this

before

after

4x4 sticker is gone too

Got it all waxed up too, even polished the rims and detailed the interior.

Next step is to colour match the frontend.

New bed caps

New mirror caps

Painted wheel wells

Also picked up some painted door handles, but I need more time to be able to install them.

Looking good Where did you pick up your door handles? I've been on a search for some, only can find them on Ebay but I never priced the dealership. Nate

I lucked out and found them on KIJIJI (Canada's craigslist). Picked them, the mirror caps, a gas door, and two tailgate guards up for $110

Hey, what did you do with the Bowties you took off the doors? That is a nice clean look...I have a 2011 Crewcab in here & would love to have the small Bowtie for the Silverado lettering on the tailgate.

Re: Pick it up Tuesday...

OK.....thanks for the heads up....I took my tailgate bowtie off when it started peeling from behind, got it warrantied & have the new one in the box for later. I wasnt terribly upset because I've never liked how big the bowtie was....looked a bit out of proportion to me....congratulations again on the new truck!
