eh, not really Think of it this way, which would be cooler to be driving around with
the wife after retirement? A pickup truck or a classic race car.

Re: Well I'll be darn: The truck won and the mustang lost!!!!!!

Congrats!! I would be stoked if my current ebay auction went that well! My first car was a 65 Mustang coupe and later had an 84 GT. I'm kind of partial to Mustangs but as my car ownership has proven, I really don't have any loyalties. Dodge, Chevy, Ford, VW, MG, Porsche, my "fun" cars have been quite diverse.

I always tell my wife to be happy my fidelity issues are with cars and not women.

You know what they say about opinions. The OP is happy and lets just leave it at that. With that said, I much rather have his c10 over any '79 Mustang.

Very good, i am a fan of the c10 for sure, the mustang not so much. I would love to have a sweet patina shortbed like that. Maybe someday. Congrats on the sale.

Big typo there, it was a 351 Cleveland, not Windsor.

Thanks! for your "opinion". Just sharing my "opinion" - just like EVERYONE else here.
And his Mustang was a 67, not 79.

Re: Well I'll be darn: The truck won and the mustang lost!!!!!!

lol......it's all good. I also belong to the VMF forum (vintage mustand forum). What do you think their choice would have been? I know right where "litew8" is coming from. It's what I weighed out in my head many times. The facts are that I have a 4 yr old boy. It would have been quite awhile before I could have got to the mustang. We are paying cash now for a newer travel trailer and I'm going to make sure that he has the same memories that I did growing up which is camping every summer. I can't make memories with a young boy and a car that just sits and sits and sits. He absolutely loves daddy's "little truck that is really loud" (in his own words) though.

I also have the Camaro that I'm having a lot of fun with. It's not like it's just the truck now.

Below is him a year ago. We have a lot of fun in that truck!

Re: Well I'll be darn: The truck won and the mustang lost!!!!!!

If you can get past the squeaky clutch the camera picked up that I couldn't even hear because the truck is so loud. Had to shut it down early because this country road had no shoulder and I was headed for the gravel.

Yes.....it will barely turn them over!

Congrats on the quick sale! I have to admit that I was drooling over your Craigslist ad though. I'm a die-hard GM guy, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't love 67-68 Mustang Fastbacks...

Ya, there's still a few around, but they seem to just hole up on all the private ground these days. Damn cougars have raised hell with the deer population too.

The 67 Mustang was my first car and I have a soft spot for them, But I am so glad you kept the truck. It is one of my favorites on the board.
