Re: Lets see some red trucks

Even though she is referred to as "the orange truck", the color is actually GM Gypsy Red, code 596. Chevrolet used this color only in 1955. When the sun hits it at the right angle it appears to be orange. O'reilly Auto Parts did a great job mixing this when the hood was painted after the opening was cut out. Matched the color exactly.

Re: Lets see some red trucks

Yep, I am still going with the Victory Red-Code 74. If you know the color of your truck and code, also post it so if someone likes your red they know what to look for.

It does not have to be Victory Red. There are all kinds of reds out there and I am sure seeing the different colors will help someone pick the red they want for their truck. So far a lot of beautiful reds. I think the Apple Red is OE red on a lot of our trucks. Now the spanish red is a new red for me. First time I heard of it. But a nice color.

My 78. Sorry, don't know the paint code, it was painted back in the 80s when my department got the truck, it was originally yellow.

I like the solid colors broke up some. A big long bed that is all one solid color... just looks better with some 2 tone in my eyes. Here's mine.
