Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

HaHa..My son got me that @ IU. He was there for a Clarinet performance workshop. He gets my sick sense of humor. Unlike other people in my family lol.

I got the rear end out and I have the replacement rear on the back of my Colorado ready to go to the blaster Mon. evening along with my sway bar. Got sweaty today. Don't like that. :/

I dropped the rear and sway bar off yesterday at Professional Powder coating for blasting and it should be ready soon.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got my stuff back from Rob last week and its still on my truck. My a/c at the house started acting up so had to get a new A-coil for it. Set me back a little and slowed down progress on the truck. Maybe this weekend will be better. We'll see.

I know the feeling. Had to spend a bunch of time & money working on the house A/C too.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Well I was putting the rear in after I painted it and it baked a while in the sun lol. Then I realize my unit is freezing up again. I get my guy over here and we hear a hissing noise when we walk around to my outside unit. My accumulator is rusted and leaking. I then make the decision to just do an all new system just bigger. I and my a/c guy feel that my unit was undersized from the get go. So less money for project. And my sons got a school trip coming up so some more $. So when I get cooled off I'll post pics. i also got one of those stand up portable a/c heater/dehumidifier units so we could be a little cool. Then I can take it to the basement and use it when needed.

Its all cool now. I got a new 2.5 ton Rheem. I will have to get back on the truck maybe this weekend. I need to tighten up the rear. I had to stop working on it when my air guy showed up. We'll see.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got the rear all tightened up. Ran the taillight wiring up to the firewall. Ran the sending unit wire up to the cab and stopped there. I will run it through a tank hold down bolt hole and put sealer around it. I have two sending unit wires so I'll cut and solder it just inside the cab and run it up to the fusebox. I started finishing up my power steering and needed an adaptor for my pressure hose to fit on the pump. Livrat is sending me one for free!!. When it gets here I'll finish that. I also had to buy a battery or so I thought I had to. My Silverado just clicked the other day when I was about to take it to St. Louis to see a game. I went over to Wallyworld at 6 am and got another one. I got it in and it clicked once and then started. I didn't feel comfortable taking it so we took another vehicle. I had the battery tested and it tested good. Its only 14 mo. old. I think I may have a bad connection down on the starter. It has been starting every time since though. Anyway the battery is now in My 68 GMC and I need cables now. So my list to get it cranking is short. Here it is.
battery cables Done
spark plug wires
belts-I have some used ones I may use temporarily
ps pump hose install Done
heater hoses
wire the engine compartment
new alternator
re-install steering column
install oil pressure line

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I got the ps hose connected to the pump. Thanks Mark! (livrat) for the correct fitting. I have a belt for it. Just need to get ones for the a/c and alt.
