4x4 question
A guy on craigslist has a 4x4 frame missing a draft shaft and a transfer case. How hard is it to find the transfer case? Also is there something else that I should make sure it has? He only wants $150 for it . I would love make a 4wd truck , unless its impossible to find the parts . Thanks

Not hard to find transfer case. Chances are ther is one with 20 minutes of your house. Just have to know what tranny you have and year, or just count the splines. Hard part is going to be finding a cab with title.

I have an extra cab(no title) and a 71 c10 as a parts truck with a title. Not sure on how to go about making it legal . Does $150 seem reasonable ?

Very reasonable. You don't have to find original stuff either,unless that's what you want. The parts from newer trucks will work.

Drive train parts are easy.
For the frame, I would just verify the spring shackles are in good shape. Just make sure they aren't busted up, since that could be a problem to the frame itself. Then I would look at the steering box section, and look for cracks since that area is an area known for stress cracks. Find a lowered 2wd PU and get it onto your new 4wd frame
