s10 to C10 in New Jersey

Hey, I'm Will out of Pittsgrove, NJ. This is my second vehicle my first being a '99 s10 that I did quite a bit of work with, but I've just bought this '68 C10 for a daily driver and I'll be selling the s10 soon. I've been lurking around this forum for quite a while, just never joined. I love this style truck and this forum was always the most useful whenever I needed to look anything up. Anyway, on to the truck.

The p.o. only had it for a week or so and didn't know much about cars in general so he had no idea what is in the truck. I tracked down the owner before that who was only marginally more helpful so right now I'm more or less discovering as I restore it... So what I know right now is:

1968 C10 with a 350 sbc and granny 3 spd. Other than that it appears to be original or at least reproduction parts. It used to be a service truck for a Texaco station near me on rt 40. The station has since closed and was refurbished by a local restoration shop to use, but the truck was only recently sold by that shop. It has it's issues but overall is very rust free and runs fantastically. I can't wait to bring her back to life.

I'd drive that one just the way it is. I love the old school painted signage, it looks pretty awesome.

Paint is definitely staying as is. It gets looks wherever I take it. But there are a few problems I still have to contend with to make it a daily driver. The p.o. was not very good with wires, for example, so there are a ton just hanging down from under the dash and they aren't routed in the engine bay, just swinging freely or laying on the block...

Welcome Will, glad to see another NJ member here. Nice looking truck, I actually saw this one on Craigslist as well. You are way ahead of the game with it being rustfree. I have been working on mine for 2 plus years because of the amount of rust I had to fix. Good luck with it.

I actually won't be there, my truck is currently still in pieces. I'm not in Grounded anymore either, I just never got my screen name changed. You have to pay money to change it and never felt like it lol. Grounded is a great club and a great group of guys. Just wasn't for me anymore. They always have a great show with a nice turnout. I'm hoping I can make it next year with my truck.
