AC expansion valve insulation

Hi All, I have a question about how the insulative tape should be wrapped around the valve and surrounding areas. If you see by the pics, there is a copper line outside of the existing wrap, should that be tucked away as well as the bulb ?

So the wire you have exposed on the side, is that ok to have out in the open ?

cowboy2420: the pic you have is the temp censer bulb for the expansion valve. it is covered up with the insulation tape. if you are putting on new tape yes cover it up. that is a thermal tube running from the expansion valve to the cold side of the evap. it tells the expansion valve when to cycle ...the whole line does not need to be covered, just around the bulb area...maybe this will help...

I'm not sure which wire you are asking about. All I can say is what you see is the way it came from GM except I may have squeezed on the sticky insulation a few times.
