wtb 250 speed equipment
Don't everybody laugh, but a friend is trying to talk me into keeping my 6 cylinder and souping it up. Anybody got any bolt on 250 speed equipment for sale cheap? Also, any opinions on this suggestion are welcome.
Thanks DC |

I would get a new 4 barrel intake and carb, HEI, headers, and have the head ported and polished. Should give you a great little inline to run with.

to do it right, you'll spend twice as much money to have a motor that's no quicker than a smallblock... if you wanna be different, go for it, but if you're just looking for more power, build a V8....

I've got a nice Clifford 4 bbl intake with a 390 Holley carb on it. It's the ideal setup for an inline. The carb hasn't been run in years though so plan on a rebuild of it.
300 plus shipping. Not cheap I know, but 6 cyl stuff costs lots more to start with. Lemme know if you need pics or more info. Kevin

Not saying you should buy it off e-bay or anything, I'd just forgotten the title of the book. It's supposed to be a great resource. Greg (in case the link doesn't work the title is "Chevy Inline Six Cylinder Power Manual" by Leo Santucci)

Some of us are different!
Half as much power for twice as much money...but just look at it! This stuff doesn't fit, so you have to make it work. That's called a challenge.
Then if you really start feeling confident that you are getting it all sorted out...hook up a 700-R4 trans and cruise. |

I have an Offenhauser 4 bbl intake in great shape, no heat plate 100.00, coil in cap hei 50.00, lump port head 2.02 int and 1.60 exh with mild port and polish screw in studs and guide plates 300.00, new dynomax headers 150.00. Also have a few 63 292 forged steel cranks if interested. Looking for a stock air cleaner for power brake trucks, cast split exhaust and any Hilborn injector manifolds.
