We have decided to install a program to help us keep track of that more. To add more staff may help, but hasn't far. We have 10 moderators on one classified section alone. They do all that they can, but in the end it frustrates them as much as it does you. Hopefully the changes going into place backend, will help produce some good results. Until then we ask that you ALL help by reporting posts and users that you see consistently selling more than leftover parts, ttt'ing stuff non stop and simply hogging the parts boards. That alone helps us a ton. There is no way possible that I can read every thread and know what every member is doing.. nor can any one member of the staff |

Re: Hogging the parts boards
Um... a few weeks ago I saw an admin, yes, an admin, TTTing 15-20 threads in a row on a couple of occasions. Caught my attention, thought it strange, wondered why...
Is this a newly raised issue?

Re: Hogging the parts boards
Administrator or Team Member? I've never seen an Administrator do that. There is one who TTTs other people's threads, which I think is odd.

Not a big deal, just TTT 20 other people's threads in a row... Totally off the subject, thanks Tim for the column. Works great and your custom made shipping container was perfect!

Re: Hogging the parts boards
I believe it was to help those whom had low views and such get some ttt time due to the folks hogging the area. We have been trying many things to help. I guess it would look odd from a members point of view. Had not even thought of that.
If ya'll ever have a question like that, simply report the post and ask why. It may be something harmless, and may be something we need to discuss with the staff. In this case I do know it was done with the proper intentions due to this entire issue. The point of this post was not to harp on just the ttt alone, but on the hogging in general. If someone is posting 20 parts in 20 separate pages, they then bumped 20 other threads off that page. The staff member was trying to help. I do understand how that would have looked to me had I not known more. |

Re: Hogging the parts boards
I have done this.
If I see a new guy who has posted something with zero to few responses on something that I know a lot of members have opinion about, I will ttt it to give the guy a chance to get some valuable input on his post rather than let it sink into oblivion. Nothing wrong with helping a member whose post has been left to sink unanswered.

Re: Hogging the parts boards
If there are no rules to follow, the person can say..."I've done nothing wrong, I'm allowed to post up as often as I like. I'm a member, and there is no post count"
You call it hogging, i think he is just trying to sell his part, so he has money to buy other parts off of the classified Just life in the big city

Re: Hogging the parts boards
I am glad that this is trying to be addressed to fix this. I have all but given up on passing along parts. I pay for high octane membership to see a lot of people in blue selling way more parts or parting out multiple trucks. The ttt issue I thought was a 3 day rule.
I do see why people have individual parts in threads. I have posted a group of parts in a thread and get hardly any responses or looks. Then I post the items individually and it sells within hours. So go figure. I think people don't like looking through a long list of parts sometimes. So putting two or three items in a thread is good.

Re: Hogging the parts boards
actually, if you go back and read the threads on this subject in the site feedback area, I replied very similar to yours long ago. I use to feel that way also. The replies and discussions made me realize that sometimes it becomes an issue. There have been many reported posts, PMs and discussions on the subject before. So it is not a new issue, just one that gets worse and worse

Re: Hogging the parts boards
I was thinking to create a new account just to ask this; where's the parts board/classifieds?
And why are the coffee mugs so expensive? Last edited by Big Block 454; 08-04-2012 at 12:32 AM. |

Re: Hogging the parts boards
Nevermind. I found it. But I still think the mugs are pricey.
