ARGH! I gotta rip into my steering column again!
ARGH! What I thought belonged to the horn...was the turn signal cancelling cam...so I get to spend 2moro, pulling my steering wheel off again, and putting it back on, and then figuring out why my truck didn't start tonight.
It turned over like a MOFO, but wouldn't fire...had 12v+ at the Coil too...I think I MIIIGHT have flooded it..I'll know for sure in the morning. It was sure funny tonight. I got it to start it, and accidently hit the blinker, and instead of the blinker coming on, the horn started honking. HAHA! So, I WAS going to leave it like that..except when I put the blinker stick back to normal, it STAYED honking. I had to hit the steering wheel for it to stop. Then I got out and disconnected the battery...Ohh Joy..I so love pulling my steering wheel...maybe I'll go buy some longer bolts to make it easier. HAHA |

You might want to put some wingnuts on that thing to make it a bit faster to remove:p If I ever need a steering column I know who to call......Anyone but you...

dude, steering column repair is a breeze. i had to pull mine into the garage this morning because it was raining, and put it back together by flashlight. then, after getting it all back together, had to tear it back down again because the high beam rod came off the switch at the bottom. i wonder if there's a market for steering column repair? cuz i think i could make some easy money at this stuff!

actually, that thing you thought was for the horn actually is. its a horn contact ring and a turn signal cancel cam all in one piece.

you mean the lock plate? yeah, that's it. does your horn not work? why would you intentionally leave horn parts out?

Everything is working PERFECTLY on my truck right now, so I don't think I"m gonna mess up the karma by putting that menial piece back in. |

Ha! My horn only works when it feels like. The canceling cam is meesed up and I lost the spring so I heated up the end of the wire w/ solder and shoved it in fast. Held well but doesn't always work. LOL I don't know why I don't go down to Smith Chevrolet and just order the $30 worth of parts and fix it.
