Re: '68 Custom

I've been told that some small blocks you could tell by the balancer?

Here two shots of the numbers in front of the pass head. Pretty sure it reads "V0626W0" Does someone know how to tell what engine this could be, or point me in the right direction to find out? Thanks Justin

And if it hasn't had an engine swap, shouldn't these alt brackets be black?

I'll be watching the parts board like a hawk looking for a hubcap like this and a air cleaner lid that hasn't been shot up!

Re: '68 Custom

Here is a link for the suffix codes

http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-cod...-suffix-10.php

WO in 1968 is a 307 but in 67 it is a 283 and in 69 a 350. Looks like a 283 or 307 balancer to me. the rear casting numbers are more reliable for cid identification.

I say cut it up !! or technically cut it down and add a few PB parts...

Thank you! That's what I was wondering. The body shop owner where it was stored was thinking it was a 327, but wasn't sure.

Thanks for the link. I saved it so for future reference!
I miss having one of these trucks as a daily, so I think this one for now is staying just like it is. Just clean it up, fix some stuff that bothers me, and enjoy driving it. Deafintly not buying anymore PB parts until I finish what I've got..... Lol!

Very solid truck, nice find! Does it still have the in-bed spare tire mount? I don't know why but I've always thought those look cool

Re: '68 Custom

It just has the bracket that's bolted to the bedside. Everything else is missing.

Look at my sig, you have my twin! Only I don't have A/C and my interior is blue and some really ugly Caddy seats...

How much you want for our hubcaps? I have 3 originals in driver quality.

Can't buy the truck Its cab and front clip is getting put on a swb frame with a stepside bed. Cab and front clip of the short step was way rotten! I'd do a title for title 67 68 SWB GMC though.
